The Unified Patent Court (UPC) is a specialized court that handles disputes over European patents with unitary effect, as well as classic European patents that have not been opted out. It offers a single, uniform jurisdiction for patent disputes. Its decisions apply across all participating countries, which makes proceedings faster and more cost-efficient than pursuing separate national cases.

Jurisdiction Over IP Disputes at the Municipal Court
The Municipal Court in Prague is the exclusive first-instance court for IP disputes in the Czech Republic. It handles cases involving patents, utility models, trademarks and other industrial property rights. Decisions can later be appealed to the High Court in Prague and, in exceptional cases, reviewed by the Supreme Court.
